Starting out as a 14 year old investing savings from my first part-time job at the fish and chip shop, I have been fascinated with investing for as long as I can remember. Twenty-five years on, not much has changed apart from no longer working at the local fish & chip shop!
Working in financial services since 2012, I started my advisory firm in 2015. Frustrated I was not able to provide the type of advice I wanted, I sold the firm to the other partners and took on a new direction, one that aligned with what I most wanted to do and with the ability to do it. My desire was to provide highly personalised financial advice on a one-on-one basis; sitting around people’s kitchen table helping plan their finances to set up for a retirement on their terms.
Along the way I’ve gathered a number of qualifications, besides real world experience, including my Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning as well as completing my Master of Financial Planning. I was also a Licensee and Key Person of my previous firm’s Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL), positions that carry considerable legal obligations.
On a personal front, I enjoy spending as much time as I can with my wife Bree and our 2 young sons Lincoln and Xavier and of course our most recent addition to the family, our newborn daughter Matilda. I love to run and have completed 8 marathons and am still searching for that one where I break the 4-hour mark; here’s hoping one day!
I’m also a regular blood donor, with over 100 donations completed with and a pin cushion elbow crease as evidence and hope to eventually make 500 donations by the age of 60.
